About the Sitatunga (Tragelaphus spekii)

The Sitatunga, or "marshbuck", is an African antelope species that is typically found in the swamplands throughout Central Africa. The Sitatunga is easily confused with the Nyala, as they are almost indistinguishable from a distance. Males are generally larger than females, and grow beautiful upward-spiraling horns, while both sport a shaggy, water-resistant coat, perfect for navigating their damp habitat. They also feature a subtle white facial or neck marking, and their color usually grows more grey-brown with age.
