This is a phenomenal 40" Longnose Gar taxidermy fish mount, posed facing the viewers right and mounted to a piece of driftwood. The fins, painting and taxidermy work are all in terrific shape. All of this combined has helped this item earn our Premier Plus™ overall quality rating. All applicable dimensions are included to help ensure this item will fit within your intended display space.

Animal description

About the Longnose Gar (Lepisosteus osseus)

Also known as the "needlenose gar", this prehistoric looking fish is found through freshwater areas in North and Central America. The gar prefers secluded areas beneath the water, among thick vegetation and fallen trees and stumps. The gar feeds primarily on smaller fish, crayfish and insects, and appear green in coloration, with a blue-grey speckling along their sides.
