Animal description

About the Rusa Deer (Rusa timorensis)

The Rusa Deer (also known as the Javan Rusa) is a species of deer native to several small islands in Indonesia. They prefer a habitat of open dry flats and mixed forests and savannas. The Rusa deer's smaller build highlights both their large ears and extremely large antlers, comparatively. They are incredibly social animals and are usually found traveling in small herds, communicating any danger with a loud "honk" from a stag.
