About the Alpine Ibex (Capra ibex)

The Alpine Ibex is found in mountain ranges throughout the European Alps. The horns of the male Ibex have a backward sweeping curl with many prominent ridges that can reach lengths of over 35". Their diet consists mainly of grasses and leaves with other small plants mixed in. Alpine Ibex are excellent climbers with the ability to scale mountain faces so steep that it would require equipment and ropes for even the best human climber.
