This is a fantastic reproduction Barred Owl taxidermy bird mount. It is posed perched on a custom wooden branch wall mount. The feathers are beautifully crafted together to create this striking owl reproduction. It is made using real feathers from other birds (such as chickens) as the Barred Owl is protected and a real bird cannot be sold. The craftsmanship on this item is equally impressive, earning our Excellent™ overall quality rating. All applicable dimensions are included to help ensure this item will fit within your intended display space.

About the Barred Owl (Strix varia)
The Barred Owl (or Hoot Owl) is a large species of owl found in North America. It gets its name "Hoot Owl' for its very distinctive and boisterous call. The adult Barred Owl can weigh over 2 lbs and has a wingspan of over 45" in length. Their feather coloration ranges from dark brown to grey, with a creamy mottled chest and dark rings around its brown-colored eyes, making it one of the rare owl species that does not have yellow eyes. The Barred Owl prefers woods in old-growth forests but has also been shown to do well in a more suburbanized environment, where easier predation on its diet of small rodents can occur.
