About the Largemouth (Micropterus salmoides)

The largemouth bass is a popular freshwater game fish native to North America, and found throughout temperate water climates all over the world. Both the largemouth and smallmouth bass belong to the sunfish family, but the largemouth gets its namesake from the oversized, jutted jaw which gives it such an overstated underbite. It is typically olive green in color, with darker markings along its sides, while its fins are generally understated, light green and smaller in size in comparison to its bulky build. Largemouth Bass are generally a few inches longer, and few lbs heavier, than their Smallmouth counterparts.

About the Black Crappie (Pomoxis annularis)

The white crappie is one of two types of crappie (other: black crappie) found throughout freshwater lakes in North America. It shares the same size, shape, and habitat as the black crappie, but it has a lighter silver-green coloration with dark green or grey spotting. Their dorsal fin starts further back along the spine than the black crappie, and their mouths extend down past their eyes. Crappies are typically 4-12 inches long and prefer lakes, reservoirs and large rivers with little or no current.
