This is stunning fossilized Romanian Cave Bear full skull for sale, which is truly a rare find since the cave bear last roamed the earth 24,000 years ago. The skull itself measures 9 11/16" wide and 16 5/16" in length. This would be the ultimate addition to any collection or museum. Don't wait because this item will not last long! Considering the age of this skull it is in truly exceptional condition as well as one of the most pristine cave bear skulls on the market. Many fossilized skulls are not as complete as this one. It is much more common to find fossilized skulls without the lower jaw, but not this one, this one is complete earning this one our rare World Class Star™ overall quality rating. About the Cave Bear (Ursus spelaeus)
The Cave Bear is native to Europe and Asia, and this particular bear is from the caves of Romania. Cave bears walked their last 24,000 years ago. The Cave Bear is believed to have been descended from the Etruscan bear that lived nearly 100,000 years ago. These bears are comparable in size to the largest bears of today. The male bears are predicted to have weighed upwards of 1300 lbs and the females of 600lbs.
