This is an amazing Reproduction Armadillo taxidermy mount, posed laying on its back guzzling down any treat you put in his paws. In the photos, the armadillo is seen feasting on a box of Cracker Jacks but it can be changed out to be a can of soda or anything else one could imagine. The artistry is outstanding along with the imagination put into this piece. All of this combined has helped this item earn our Excellent™ overall quality rating. About the Nine-Banded Armadillo (Dasypus novemcinctus)
The Nine-banded Armadillo is native to North, Central, And South America, making it the most wide spread species of armadillo. This particular armadillo is primarily nocturnal and is an insectivore meaning its primary food source is insects such as ants and termites. A fun fact about these armored mammals is that they can jump up to four feet in the air when frightened. An adult armadillo weighs an average of 10 lbs and has an average total body length of 36 in.
