The Taxidermy Store does not raise or harvest animals for the purpose of resale. Alternatively, items are acquired from a variety of places including: zoos or farms that regularly have animals decease from natural causes, museums, estates, industry surplus and collections in which the item may have already gone through part or all of the taxidermy process. All items receiving our Ethically Acquired Product Guaranty are abundant, sustainable and/or have already been preserved. The items we sell are inspected, conditioned, cleaned, repaired and/or restored if needed to bring them to their optimal condition. They are then assessed and given a quality rating before being sold. Other decor style products offered in our store that receive our Ethically Acquired Product Guaranty have not been obtained in a manner that endangers sustainability of any resource used in their final product or manufacturing process.

This World Class category is for the SERIOUS Collector who wants nothing less than the best of the best!

{ Vintage } To be ranked in this category the item will be of a vintage styling. Vintage items should not be assumed as poor, as these items may have once been of very nice quality. The classic look and retro appearance of vintage items has made this category increasingly popular for our collectors and decorators! An example of a vintage item would be an item of great hide and horn quality that was mounted many years ago using older taxidermy techniques and materials (such as vintage eyes) that give the item a classic retro 'look'. Vintage items may range in quality, from good to less than average or patchy hair, good to less than average horns, may have some scars, etc… Please read each listing for a more detailed description and review the pictures provided. This category is most often purchased by those looking for a classic vintage look or for those decorating in a classic retro styling. Vintage mounts are also great for use in some types of restaurants and Bars (for example) that decorate in a vintage or western style theme.

{ Poor } To be ranked in this category the item will be a ‘poor’ example of its type in the majority of categories (when applicable) such as: horn size/quality, hair quality, hide quality, color, size, and overall Taxidermy Quality. Generally items in this category may have (when applicable) many range marks / scars in the hair, may have smaller sized or damaged horns, poor quality hair, and poor quality taxidermy. If the item fails to meet even these standards, it will not be sold by our store. Please read each listing for a more detailed description and review the pictures provided. We will very rarely even list a 'poor' quality item for sale. We would only recommend items of this quality to our clients in rare circumstances... For instance, we may recommend this category if the client wanted to hang a taxidermy mount outdoors on the front of a cabin where the item(s) will be subject to further damage from sunlight, heat, humidity, rain, etc. - making the purchase of a higher quality mount un-needed.
