About the Stone Sheep (Ovis dalli stonei)

The Stone Sheep is a beautiful horned subspecies of Dall Sheep found throughout the Northwestern portion of North America. Their summer habitat are the mountain and cliff regions of the area, where they are safe from predators and can forage for food. Their hair coloration is often a slate grey/brown with a creamy white colored rump. Stone sheep horns very closely resemble that of the Dall sheep in size, shape and color.
