About the Opossum (Didelphis Virginiana)
Commonly called "possum", these marsupials are typically found throughout North America. Though they vary in size, opossums are about the same size as the common house cat. The opposum has been tagged the "opportunistic omnivore", eating everything from carrion to garbage and roadkill, though it should be noted that the possum has an incredible immune system to tolerate this diet.
