For sale, we have a fabulous 26" Longnose Gar taxidermy fish mount, mounted to a piece of driftwood and posed swimming to the viewer's left. This Gar measures 26 inches in length, 7 inches in circumference, and has an estimated live weight of 6 lbs. The fins feature no cracks or chips, the painting is outstanding, making it just like a live gar, and the taxidermy craftsmanship is out of this world! This Gar is a real skin mount, making it much more unique since most of them are reproductions. All applicable measurements and dimensions are provided in the specifications section to help ensure this item will fit within your intended space, as well as meet expectations regarding the item's featured attribute sizes, scores, etc.

Animal description

About the Longnose Gar (Lepisosteus osseus)

Also known as the "needlenose gar", this prehistoric looking fish is found through freshwater areas in North and Central America. The gar prefers secluded areas beneath the water, among thick vegetation and fallen trees and stumps. The gar feeds primarily on smaller fish, crayfish and insects, and appear green in coloration, with a blue-grey speckling along their sides.
