This fish species prefers slow-moving water bodies with aquatic sedimentation. Carp are omnivorous, meaning they eat both vegetation and insects that they find scavenging on the bottom. These fish are known to lay nearly 300,000 eggs per spawn and can lay over a million eggs in a year.
